Rada Serrated Food Chopper: Handheld Salad Chopper and Egg Chopper for Fast Prep

Some kitchen tools sit in the drawer for years. The Rada serrated food chopper earns its slot every single week. Push it down, and the four-sided serrated blade cuts through cooked eggs, wilted greens, and shredded chicken like the whole thing was rehearsed.

Rada calls it the Kwik-Kut and the name fits. It is not electric, it is not fussy, and it will not launch tomato guts across your counter the way a full-size knife sometimes will.

Get Chop to It: Why the Serrated Edge Earns Its Spot

  • Four-sided serrated stainless blade - grabs slippery foods like hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, and stewed greens instead of sliding off them.
  • One-hand press-down motion - grip the knob, press straight down into the bowl, and you are done. No rocking or chef-knife technique required.
  • Kwik-Kut brand, built by Rada Cutlery - the same handheld tool your grandmother kept in her utensil crock, now made in Waverly, Iowa alongside every other Rada blade.
  • 3-inch diameter, 4-inch tall - small enough to live in the utensil drawer, deep enough that your knuckles never touch the food.
  • Comfort finger-loop handle - steady to hold and easy to press, even for smaller hands and arthritic grips.
  • Top-rack dishwasher safe - rinse, load, done. Hand washing keeps the blade sharpest over the long haul.
  • Made in USA with American materials - Rada sources domestically from top to bottom, backed by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

What This Chopper Actually Does Best

This is the tool you reach for when a full-size knife is overkill and a food processor is too much cleanup. Egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, taco lettuce, chopped spinach for a casserole, cooked ground beef for tacos: five to eight quick pushes and prep gets a lot quieter. Serrated teeth grip where a smooth edge would slide, which is why this version is the go-to for anyone chopping cooked proteins and leafy greens.

Why Kooi Housewares Carries This

Kooi Housewares stocks Rada Cutlery because it is one of the few American kitchen brands still running a family-scale factory in Waverly, Iowa with domestic materials and a lifetime warranty they actually honor. Rada has been making blades since 1948, added the classic Kwik-Kut chopper to the lineup, and did not mess with the recipe. If you have questions about any Rada product, email us at support@kooihousewares.com and we will answer in plain English.

Product FAQs

What is a Rada food chopper used for?

The Rada serrated food chopper is a handheld tool for chopping soft and slippery foods fast: hard-boiled eggs, cooked chicken, tuna, lettuce, tomatoes, cooked ground beef, and steamed greens. Press it straight down into a bowl five to eight times and the four-sided serrated blade breaks the food into even pieces. It is the go-to for egg salad, tuna salad, chicken salad, and taco fillings.

Is the Rada food chopper dishwasher safe?

Yes, the Rada Kwik-Kut serrated food chopper is dishwasher safe on the top rack. For the sharpest blade over the long haul, hand wash it in warm soapy water and towel dry. Do not soak it.

What is the difference between the plain and serrated Rada food chopper?

The plain edge chopper has a smooth blade and doubles as a 3-inch round biscuit cutter, which makes it ideal for rolled dough, cookies, and scones. The serrated edge version has toothed blades that grip slippery foods like hard-boiled eggs, tomatoes, and cooked chicken instead of sliding off them. Most cooks who chop a lot of salads and cooked proteins prefer the serrated one.

Are Rada food choppers made in the USA?

Yes. Rada Cutlery makes the Kwik-Kut food chopper in Waverly, Iowa using materials sourced from American suppliers. Rada has been making kitchen tools in the USA since 1948 and backs its products with a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

Can you chop hard-boiled eggs with a Rada food chopper?

Yes, hard-boiled eggs are one of the top uses for the serrated food chopper. Place the peeled egg in a bowl, press the chopper down four or five times, and you have evenly diced egg ready for egg salad or a Cobb topping. The serrated teeth grip the slippery white so the egg does not skid around the bowl.

Who makes the Kwik-Kut food chopper?

The Kwik-Kut is now manufactured by Rada Cutlery in Waverly, Iowa. Rada acquired the Kwik-Kut brand and kept the original design and hometown-scale manufacturing, so the tool your grandmother owned is essentially the same one you get today.
