You do not need one to grill, but a lid changes what the pan can do. Cover it and you can steam vegetables, melt cheese on a burger, or finish a thick steak through without cranking the heat. The tempered glass lid on this Victoria combo lets you keep an eye on the food without lifting it and losing moisture.

Can I use this Victoria cast iron grill pan on an induction cooktop?

Yes. Cast iron is naturally magnetic, so it works on induction, gas, electric, ceramic, and glass tops. Victoria specifically lists induction, ceramic, campfire, grill, broiler, and oven as approved heat sources for this pan.

Is the Victoria cast iron grill pan pre-seasoned?

Yes. It ships pre-seasoned with 100% Non-GMO, Kosher-certified flaxseed oil. No PTFE or PFOA. You can start cooking on it the day it arrives, and the seasoning improves with each use.

How do you get grill marks on steak indoors?

Heat the dry grill pan on medium-high until a drop of water dances on the ridges. Pat the steak dry, oil the steak (not the pan), lay it across the ridges, and leave it alone for about three minutes. Rotate 45 degrees to stamp on the crosshatch, then flip and repeat. The pan's heat retention does most of the work.

Can the glass lid go in the dishwasher?

Yes, but remove the stainless steel knob first and place the lid on the top rack only. The lid is oven safe up to 350F. The cast iron pan itself should always be hand washed, dried thoroughly, and lightly oiled to protect the seasoning.

Care Instructions: Cast Iron Pan: Hand wash only. Rinse with warm water and a stiff brush or chainmail scrubber. Skip the soap when possible. Dry immediately and completely on low stovetop heat, then rub a thin coat of neutral oil over the entire pan (inside, outside, handle) to protect the seasoning. Never soak, never dishwasher. Reseason if food starts sticking or the surface looks dull. Glass Lid: Dishwasher safe on the top rack only after removing the stainless steel knob. Oven safe up to 350F. Do not use the lid under the broiler.

Orders over $49 ship free. Orders less than $49 have a shipping and handling charge of $4.99 to help cover some of the cost of packaging and shipping. This allows us to continue offering low priced products at a reasonable price.

We're simple people, so we try to keep our policies simple. We realize that not everything purchased is a winner, and so returns do happen. Here are the simple rules for a return:

1. To be eligible for a refund, your item must be unused and in the same condition that you received it. It must be in the original packaging.

2. Returns must be shipped back within 30 days of delivery.

3. Returns that do not adhere to rules 1 and 2 MAY be given a partial refund depending on product condition and return timing.

4. Customer is responsible for the cost of return shipping. If your product has arrived damaged from Shipping or has a manufacturing defect, we may choose to provide a pre-paid return label or send a replacement item.
