Rada Super Parer: The Large Paring Knife Built for More Than Small Jobs
The Rada Super Parer is the biggest paring knife in the Rada Cutlery lineup, with a 4-3/8-inch hollow-ground blade and an 8-3/8-inch total length. It sits between a standard paring knife and a cook's utility knife, which covers the jobs that are too big for a regular paring knife but do not need the reach of a utility knife.
Hand-sharpened in Waverly, Iowa from T420 surgical-grade stainless steel, this American-made paring knife handles apples, onions, boneless chicken breasts, small squash, and every "the big knife is overkill" job in between.
A Cut Above Your Average Parer
- 4-3/8-inch hollow-ground blade - long enough to halve a bell pepper or trim a chicken breast without hopping to a chef's knife.
- Surgical-grade T420 high-carbon stainless steel - takes a razor edge and holds it through years of daily prep.
- Hand-sharpened in Waverly, Iowa - every blade is put to a wheel by a real person before it ships, not spat out of a machine.
- Your pick of handle - cast aluminum in silver satin (the vintage Rada look grandma used) or molded black resin (the modern, dishwasher-tolerant option).
- Full tang construction - blade runs the length of the handle so the knife feels balanced, not tippy, when you're bearing down on a squash.
- All-American materials - Rada sources steel, aluminum, and resin from U.S. suppliers, so this is truly Made in USA, not just assembled here.
- Lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects - Rada has been building these since 1948, and they stand behind every one.
Small Knife, Big Range
Most home cooks reach for a paring knife more than any other blade in the drawer. The Super Parer stretches that range further, so you're not switching to a bigger knife every time a job creeps past "small." Pair it with the Rada Quick Edge Sharpener and the blade holds an edge through daily prep. The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects for the life of the knife.
Why We Carry Rada at Kooi Housewares
We stock Rada Cutlery at Kooi Housewares because the price stays low, the blade is American-made, and the lifetime warranty is real. Rada is still a family-scale operation in Waverly, Iowa (they were acquired by St. Martin Holdings Company in 2024, but manufacturing stayed put). The blades are hollow-ground and hand-sharpened, the price stays reasonable, and the lifetime warranty is real. That's the exact combination we're happy to put our name on.
